At Serena Photography much of the work we do is on location and often time critical - from shooting kids drama groups during rehearsal at end of year concerts, and needing to have prints ready for sale by the interval break that same evening; to photographing team photos of sporting groups and needing to produce hundreds of 10”x 8” prints for presentation gifts, or covering major sporting events and selling images at the venue.
Previously, this was done using a large format printer, and meant tiling image files onto a preset ‘sheet’ in photoshop, then printing and spending vital time having to trim them all down to individual images by hand; not to mention the tedious task of having to load a heavy, cumbersome and fairly large 24” printer into a vehicle and transport it everywhere (not a task one person can do alone!)
With the Surelab D700, I now have a portable, easy to carry (and IPHOTO have even sourced a sturdy carry case too should you want) printer that is efficient, photo quality and fast - producing individual trimmed to size prints in a fraction of the time I was able to before. For me this means less stress and rush to make deadlines, more time behind the camera doing what I really love, and being able to give a whole lot more time and energy more to my clients.
Of course, as a small business owner, balancing budgets is always front of mind, so it was great to do the math and see that not only did the Surelab D700 save me time, it also was far more cost effective per print than my previous printer too!
